At Notarized by Mia, your satisfaction and clarity are important to us. Because notarial services are time-based and governed by legal guidelines, our refund policy is designed to ensure transparency and fairness for both parties.
Refund Policy
1. General Refund Policy
Due to the nature of notarial services, all completed notary services are non-refundable once the signing appointment has occurred and the notarial act has been completed.
If an appointment is cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance, clients are eligible for a refund (minus any processing fees) or can reschedule the appointment once without penalty.
2. Refund Eligibility Criteria
Refunds may be considered in the following cases before the notarial appointment has taken place:

Client cancels the appointment with at least 24 hours' notice.

Duplicate payment for the same service.

Overpayment for a service that was not required.

Technical errors resulting in payment without confirmation of appointment.
Refunds will not be issued under the following circumstances:

The signer fails to appear at the appointment (no-show).

The signer does not have valid, original government-issued ID.
-
The signer is unable or unwilling to sign, appears under duress, or the notary has reason to refuse service based on California notarial laws.

Documents are incomplete, unsigned in advance, or require legal advice which the notary is not authorized to provide.

The signer or client fails to provide required witnesses, and the appointment cannot proceed.
3. Rescheduling Policy
Appointments may be rescheduled once, with at least 24 hours’ notice, at no additional charge. Rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the appointment may result in a $25 rebooking fee, and your original payment may be forfeited depending on the situation.
4. Travel Fees
If a mobile notary appointment is canceled after the notary is en route or has arrived at the location, any travel fee is non-refundable. Travel fees are disclosed prior to confirmation and are separate from the notarial act fee.
5. Method of Refund
If a refund is approved:

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method (credit/debit card).

Please allow 5-7 business days for processing through your financial institution.

We do not offer cash refunds.
